In September 2013, five young pianists formed a group and began organizing and performing recitals at retirement homes in Austin, Texas. Their main purpose was to share the joy of music with communities of senior citizens. The oldest musician in the group was 13 years old, and the youngest was 7.  From 2013 to 2018, these young musicians, led by Ira Hsiao and Isabelle Hsiao, performed at retirement homes every month, in locations such as: Atria at the Arboretum, the Conservatory at North Austin, Isle at Cedar Ridge, Brookdale, Longhorn Village, Renaissance, Arden Courts, Lakeline Oak, Brookdale Westlake Hills, Brookdale Gaines Ranch, and Parmer Woods.

In order to keep this musical vision alive, the two Hsiao siblings from the original group formed Rêve de Musique (RDM) in August 2019.  Ever since the official launch of RDM, the Founder and President, Ira Hsiao, has recruited few young pianists to organize events and continued performances in various senior residences across the Austin Metropolitan area.  The Artistic Director, Isabelle Hsiao, has been responsible for the design of the logo for RDM, planning the programs, and advising on repertoire selections.

Three of the young musicians from the original group in 2013 are the founding members of Rêve de Musique. Music is food for the soul, and with their passion and original mission, these young musicians continue to bring the joy of music to senior communities and everyone else around them.
