Samuel Hana

Samuel Hana is a 16 year old tenth grader born and raised in Austin, Texas. He began playing piano at the age of 7 and studies under Julia Hsiao. He has participated and received multiple superior plus ratings in ADMTA (Austin District Music Teachers Association) for Baroque-Classical and Romantic-Contemporary Festivals and has received gold medals since 2020 from the TMTA (Texas Music Teachers Association) Theory Tests. In addition, he is a 2nd place duet winner for American Protégé Piano Duo Four Hands (2021), a 3rd place solo winner for American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition (2024), a 2nd place solo winner for AADGT Passion for Music (2024), and a 2nd place duet winner for AADGT Passion for Music (2024). He has also won a gold medal for the AADGT Passion for Music (2025) 25th Anniversary Competition and was invited to play at Minato Mirai Hall in Yokohama, Japan. Most recently, he won 2nd place at Special Venus Music Awards International Competition and was invited to perform in the winners’ recital at Harvard University in September 2025.
